That comment summed up how all the participants felt at this year’s Dragons’ Den at High Beeches Primary School. The winning team had created handmade customised jewellery which the Dragons felt would really attract buyers at the school’s Summer Fair.

The challenge for Year 6 was to think of a business idea and pitch it to some successful business people, who would challenge them and then award the prizes and give advice and support. The project encouraged the 11-year-olds to handle topics such as creative thinking, marketing, finance, selling and pitching.

Our members role is to brief the children about the project and provide guidance on aspects such as business planning, finance and presenting skills. They make the whole experience fun while embedding useful knowledge and life skills.
