The quiz organised by Rotary in Harpenden to raise money for the ongoing rebuilding of Moshchun, a village on the outskirts of Kyiv, raised £1133.
Budding young photographers have the opportunity to enter their work in the Harpenden heat of Rotary’s country-wide Young Photographer Competition. The competition is split into three age-defined sections: junior, intermediate and senior. Three charities nominated to share in the £34,000 raised by last July’s Classics on the Common show, organised by Rotary in Harpenden, were presented with cheques at a dinner at Aldwickbury Park Golf Club.

A wooden bench halfway up Harpenden’s Sun Lane has for decades allowed residents toiling up that steep hill a chance to rest. As the bench had fallen into disrepair, Rotary in Harpenden have met the cost and installation expenses of a new bench.
Once again Classics on the Common, Rotary in Harpenden’s flagship event, drew crowds in their thousands to Harpenden Common to roam about a splendid collection of classic cars, motorbikes and scooters. This year we also introduced a novelty.

The theme for the 2022/2023 competition was “The Beauty of Architecture”.
This year three young people earned the Bill Hewetson Memorial Prize and Young Citizen Award. The prize and award – a token and certificate – recognise special service within the community in keeping with Rotary International’s motto, Service above Self.
