Twenty-eight teams competed for the trophy in this, the 26th Rotary in Harpenden Quiz of Quizzes, held at St George’s School. By a six-point margin the Harpenden Lions Club triumphed, chalking up an 11th victory.
Runners-up Quizwas, a new name to the competition, were followed into third place by the aptly-named And in Third Place.
As well as the challenge of the competition the 168 quizzers enjoyed a choice of four hot suppers, produced by the renowned Godfrey’s and served at their tables.
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and Rotary Foundation were the main charities benefiting from the money raised by the event.
