Harpenden Common was the place to be on 24th July, as thousands of the town’s residents and visitors could testify.
They were there to marvel at the 900 gleaming classic cars, motorbikes and scooters gathered for the 30th Classics on the Common, the 15th staged by Rotary in Harpenden.
There they found a spectacular range of classic vehicles from Austin A40s to Cadillacs and E-Type Jaguars, along with an impressive row of Rolls Royces.
The TT race simulator, which proved so popular last year, was back again, as were the autojumble stalls.
With sunshine and cloud combining to create ideal conditions, many owners, accompanied by family or friends, picnicked alongside their vehicles. For spectators there were food stalls whose offerings ranged from ice creams to hog roasts.
Ranked as one of the top events in the classics calendar, Classics on the Common combines a showcase for an extensive range of classic vehicles with a splendid community experience.
Visit our Classics on the Common website for a full report on the show, the names of the charities that will benefit from the money raised and view dozens of pictures of the show taken for us by Steve Collins Photography.
Hertfordshire High Sheriff Annie Brewster was given a tour of the show by Rotary in Harpenden President Terry Heritage (left) and Event Manager Liz Jack. She later messaged the President: ‘Well done to all your teams for the most incredible show.’
