Charlie Soanes of Roundwood Park School, one of the Rotary Young Citizen Award winners, has sent the following letter to Rotary in Harpenden:
To all at Rotary in Harpenden.
I want to say a huge thank you for all the support Rotary has given me. I know some of the members asked that I stay in contact and tell them how my A-Levels and university applications went, so I thought I’d let you know that this October I am going to Oxford University to read Geography, which I’m really looking forward to!
The mock interviews you ran prior to my Oxford interview really helped me gain confidence and understanding of how to present myself in an interview setting, so I am really grateful for the time you gave me. In addition, the Rotary Youth Speaks competition, which I took part in in both year 8 and year 9, really helped me improve my public speaking and I think the skills it gave me have really helped me get to where I am now. So I wanted to say a massive thank you for all you’ve done for me personally and all you do for the community.
Kind regards
Charlie 🙂
