The quiz organised by Rotary in Harpenden to raise money for the ongoing rebuilding of Moshchun, a village on the outskirts of Kyiv, raised £1133.
The village was more or less flattened in the early stages of the war with Russia, and our Rotary friends in Ukraine, with the support of Rotary in the UK, have been raising funds to construct modular homes in Moshchun, enabling the villagers to return.
‘Odds and Ends’ was the winning team, whose six members are pictured here with, on the right, Rotary in Harpenden President Hugh Lawrence.
The quiz attracted 13 teams. A fish and chip supper was provided and enthusiastic support of a raffle helped to produce the impressive sum raised.
The event was held in the newly available Harpenden Trust halls, above the Co-op store in Southdown.
